There is a certain freedom in driving. An exhilaration flying yet never leaving the ground. A sense of control over a multi-ton object of force. Yet, you don’t have control. Anything could change everything, slick of oil, a random length of rebar, another driver, or simply an act of nature. Anything could change your fate in the blink of an eye. Will you go out on your terms or on the whim of the Universe? When someone knows their vehicle as intimately as a lover, it can bring great pleasure. The rumble of the engine can be as soothing as a cat’s purr or an exciting growl caressing your bones. Listen to it, feel it, get lost in it. Did you tame the power or did the power tame you?
