Last Goodbye to Dad

Of course the day would be rainy
The last laugh on us
The funeral room was packed
We never expected so many
The flowers were bright
The roses bringing us cheer
The grandkids drew you pictures
And I gave you a Coke
We said her goodbyes
While so many told of their memories
I gave you a companion
Someone for the long trip ahead
So I laid Rusty at your feet
May the Summerland be sweet.
